It’s easy and difficult at the same time, trying to describe how these past weeks and days have felt like – how it FEELS like, right now. Here. We are coming up to 2012, and minor shifts make major changes. New patterns of thoughts release the old, and so it goes. Inwards become outwards. Roots become branches. And in between these subtle changes and subconscious shifts, there is christmas, with its time and space for reflection and gratitude (and lots and lots of food…)

Happy christmas, my little blog family. May we all sit around the same table in the future and share, learn, laugh and eat. Much love to you all.

Long walks, viking history, smoked salmon and food from Palestine. That’s how this past week has been – as far away from the Tuscan countryside as possible. Jonathan came to visit, and I did my best to provide him with everything he can’t get in the Tuscan village – like Indian food – lots of Indian food, viking history, dragon heads, norse mythology, chocolate birthday cake and locally brewed pear cider for breakfast, the North Sea and traditional Norwegian food. Its been such a lovely week.

Two hours from here is a little town that is not so little. Our main purpose for going there was IKEA with all its contents, but we had to take a wander through the colorful streets of the city as well – just to have an excuse to drink another cappuccino and eat another slice of cake. And did we? Oh yes. It was like being back in Berkeley, CA. All that was missing was a dozen metaphysical bookshops and the smell of tibetan incense…

In 3rd grade, we learnt how to press flowers, and few days ago, I found a folder full of memories – and pressed flowers. Some of them have now been framed, after 18 years in a cardboard box. They are so beautiful.
